Summary of SEX Scene VIdeos and Lists on network!
This is a page on our site network that was created because it was apparant that many people wanted it. We did a teaser Top 10 Greatest Movie Sex Scene page, barely promoted it, and people went to that page in droves. It became our 3rd most popular page in a matter of weeks. People like sex. Or more importantely, people like watching sex on the internet. At home. At work. In the morning. At night. On their cell phones. Anywhere and at anytime! Sex scenes = ratings on the internet.
So I investigated and created a top 100 page for movie sex scenes. And to make things PG-13, I grabbed the videos from YouTube thinking that if it was R-rated then it would of been taken off the site. Of course, I got into trouble in later months by my google ads network because someone complained. My counter was that they were videos from YouTube - a site that Google owns. So how can they advertise their ads on YouTube with the video, but not advertise them on our site? That was a question I never got a answer from Google because the people I dealt with were just cogs in the mothership machine that is the company. Eventually I just removed the Google ads from those pages entirely because I am scared of Google. If they remove our ads, then our company goes bankrupt. So it's a fight I can't participate in right now.
There is a lot of debate on best sex scene because on the internet the scene plays by itself and it doesn't matter how good or bad the actual movie really is. So it's really a list that's flawed in nature because many times the person watching the sex scene hasn't even seen the actual movie. So this list is based on horny guidelines. And usually male horny guidelines because men are 75% of the viewers on this page. A scene from BLOW OUT starring Nicole Eggert and Corrie Haim is on this list, from a film that would never be on any other top list of anything, because it's a hot scene performed by a very hot and naked Eggert, who was fresh off her new boob job. So it's a very sexy scene from a very bad movie.
In reality, the best of anything in movies should be based on how it helps make it a great movie. There are many terrific performances done by actors for example that are much better than the ones who win an Oscar, but they aren't in good movies so you can't give them an award. Same goes for Cinematography, Musical Score, Art Direction etc..., the movie has to be solid in order for anyone on the cast and crew to get an award.
So if we are going under those same guidelines, here's how I would chart a great movie sex scene in three parts:
1) The scene provides plot insights for the overall story. The sex scene is in the movie because it needs to be in order for the story to make sense. NOT just there to show tits and ass. The sex scene between Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway in Brokeback Mountain is a perfect example. When they have sex in the car you learn where the main character is heading in his life and the motives of the girl he's having sex with, who will eventually become his wife. Their sex scene, just like their courtship, is compromised and settles into convenience over passion. And they both know it. You take out that sex scene from the film, you take out a major plot point and the film would suffer a great deal.
2) The scenes showcases major character developments in the movie characters. Great example is the sex scene in Monster's Ball. These are two very vulnerable characters who both have lost their sons in the recent past. Both characters are unable to truly show their emotions when talking, but when they have sex you finally see the character's true colors of how they are feeling inside. A great moment is when the Billy Bob character attempts to have sex with the Halle Berry character in the beginning just like he did with his recent hooker hookup. Berry give him a "what is going on" look and Billy Bob realizes that he needs to truly feel with this woman like a man if he is going to sleep with her. Their sexual moment changes both the character's lives forever.
3) The scene is realistic in nature. Many sex scenes are very unrealistic in the movies. If you don't think so, ask your sexual partner next time to tape your next love making session and then watch it with them. You would be shocked on how goofy if looks at times. Hair flying everywhere while our body parts are seen shaking in the most unattractive ways. And this is NOT just the unattractive folks! Even the most attractive people in the world don't look attractive when they are making love.
Of course, 80% is the camera angle, something a movie set can obviously adjust to. But unfortunately most movies manipulate actual body moments and such. And of course, a lot of the times in the movies, both the male and female orgasm occur at the exact same time, something that happens once in a relationship at best in the real world. Usually in reality it's the man who orgasms first and doesn't finish off his female partner, which can lead to conflict. So I always wondered why Hollywood avoids such interesting character conflicts with their characters. Because the censorship board doesn't want reality! The mainstream cult church organizations would have a field day! And because of this, a lot of people have idealistic viewpoints on sex as we usually see a sex scene before we ever do the deed. And we expect what we see in the movies and on TV.
So generally we're left with unrealistic sexual moments in the movies. A great way to shoot a sex scene and make it realistic is how it's done in DESPERADO between Antonio Bandaras and Salma Hayek and OUT OF SIGHT between George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez. Both sex scenes are shown in fragments and jump cuts, so the audience imagines what's going on (and of course we can fill in the blanks) while they get cleared by the censorship board. A lot of times less is more in film and these scenes are perfect examples. Audiences are smart and they can usually figure things out without seeing it.
